The NPS School Readiness Preschool program preliminary application is now live through March 15. School Readiness is a state funded subsidy program that helps families afford high quality early childcare on a sliding fee scale. School Readiness programs provide care for 3-4 year olds whose families qualify for tuition assistance determined by the family size and income.

Applicants will be placed on a waitlist after completing a Preschool Preliminary Application. Families will be alerted by the end of April.

The Early Language and Learning Initiative (ELLI) is a high-quality, interdisciplinary approach to early childhood education. The program is run in partnership with Stepping Stones Museum For Children.ELLI provides essential language and literacy-rich experiences for young children that are based on theory, research and community wisdom about what all children need to learn and grow up successfully.

The school year programs introduce opportunities for ELLI students to build essential life skills including critical thinking, creativity and innovation, communication and collaboration while playfully integrating science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).

With four ELLI locations and one NPS site across the district, the preschools are made possible through funding from CT State School Readiness and the Norwalk Board of Education. School Readiness preschool is being offered at the following locations:

    • ELLI at Fox Run

    • ELLI at Naramake

    • ELLI at Jefferson
