Intra-District Transfers
Transfer of a student from one Norwalk school to another may be granted under specified conditions at the discretion of the receiving school Principal or the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations.
Transfer requests should be made to the Principal of the receiving school and will be considered, but not automatically granted. Included in such consideration is availability of space, class size, and racial balance. In each instance, it is necessary for supporting documentation to be attached to the request for transfer.
Parents/guardians are expected to request intra-district transfers well in advance of the start of the new school year when such conditions allow. Once a student has been accepted at a school outside of the assigned district he/she is not required to reapply for an intra-district transfer the following year[s]. Siblings are not guaranteed acceptance.
