Specialized Learning
Welcome to the Specialized Learning and Student Services Department.
The Specialized Learning and Student Services Department oversees Special Education and related services for students with disabilities aged 3-21 in Norwalk Public Schools. The Specialized Learning department ensures services are delivered in the least restrictive environment and in accordance with Federal and State laws.
These services matter to families and the community because they ensure that all students with disabilities receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) and have access to individualized support to reach their full potential. The programs foster independence, academic success, and prepare students for life beyond the classroom, emphasizing collaboration between the school, families, and the community.
