Summer is a great time to have fun, relax and spend time with family and friends. It’s also a time when our scholars can receive additional help in supporting them to stay on course for academic success and to reach graduation.
Norwalk Public Schools and our community partners are offering tons of fun and educational opportunities this summer for all our students to stay active and thrive in the classroom when they return to school in the fall.
Below you'll find information about Norwalk Public Schools' summer school opportunities, NPS Summer Athletic Camps, the City of Norwalk Recreation & Parks' Play & Learn Camps and more!
Registration for NPS Summer Athletic Camps 2026 is currently open. The camps will run between June 29 and Aug. 7. Learn more under "Activities + Camps."

Keep Your Student Moving This Summer
Summer programs provide children with the opportunity to gain self-confidence, create bonds through friendship, and learn important life skills.
NPS Athletic Camps
Registration for NPS Summer Athletic Camps 2026 is currently open. The fun-filled camps are open to students in grades K-12 and engage them in a variety of activities. The camps run between June 29 and Aug. 7 (dates are subject to change due to snow days).

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER, INDOOR FACILITIES WILL BE PROVIDED. ALL CAMP DIRECTORS ARE CERTIFIED TEACHERS.
When signing up for all sessions, a discounted rate of $200 will be applied.

Instruction will cover the fundamentals of the game, including throwing, catching, hitting and base running. Campers will work on skill development through progression of drills and game play. Bring a glove to baseball camp.

- Digital Media Madness at Norwalk High School (Digital Media Communications Academy Innovation Center, Room 115B)

Want to be on TV? Want to learn to create your own broadcast? Every camper will learn the basics of digital media by being part of a production team: in front of a camera, writing scripts, editing, graphic creation and filming the stories.

Daily games will use the basic skills in actual situations and include learning the rules of the game. Ability grouping will allow campers to learn and play with others of the same ability in non-pressured situations. Participants will have fun while learning to play correctly.

Strengthen Your Child's Musical Skills
Summer Strings at BMHS 2026
Friends of Brien McMahon High School Orchestra invite our young string players to a fun and focused string camp this summer!
Summer Strings is open to rising 4th grade through 9th grade students (completed 3rd grade through 8th grade). The camp will offer two levels to support all players. Students can expect ensemble playing and collaboration, technique and musicianship development, and guided instruction by BMHS music educators.
The camp will run Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. The fee to register for the week is $150 and includes daily instruction and informal concert at the end of the week along with a pizza party.

Summer Fun with NPS Community Partners
Norwalk Recreation & Parks Summer Play & Learn Beach & Skate Camps
The City of Norwalk will be offering camp options from pre-K to Grade 9. A discounted early bird registration to all the city’s camps starts on March 2, 2026 at 12 p.m. and ends March 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Regular registration begins on March 23, 2026 at 12 a.m.

Payment Plan Option
The city is offering a payment plan enrollment period between Feb. 16 and Feb. 27, 2026, beginning at 12 p.m. on Feb. 16. An online form will be available and emailed to our email list starting Feb. 16. Click here to join the email list.

CT State Community College Norwalk - College for Kids
College for Kids programs, held on the CT State Community College Norwalk (formerly Norwalk Community College) campus. are designed to stimulate young minds. These inspiring week-long classes for students entering grades 2-12 offer hands on learning and dynamic curriculum in courses that your kids will thrive in and enjoy.

Riverbrook Regional YMCA - Camp Sunrise
Registration is open for Camp Sunrise - Norwalk.
For children entering 1st grade – 8th grade in the Fall of 2026, Camp Sunrise runs daily Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. with an extended day options for aftercare from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. for an additional cost.

Campers will embark on a journey filled with exciting indoor and outdoor activities, including Arts & Crafts, STEM and social play, at All Saints School in Norwalk, which serves as their headquarters.
In addition to the fun on-site, campers will travel to the Wilton YMCA on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to enjoy a wide range of activities including swimming, swim lessons, climbing on the ropes course, mini golf, archery, arts and crafts, inflatables in the pond, sports, and more! A New Mascot by the name of Sunny the Sunrise Squirrel will be at camp, so be on the lookout!
The Maritime Aquarium - Explore the Wonder of Long Island Sound this Summer!
Attention all young scientists and conservationists! Dive in and explore the fantastic ocean of wonder at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk's summer camp. Our summer camp program integrates science with art and literature to deepen children’s understanding of animals and the environment.
Young campers will explore the wonders of the ocean world through fun stories and games. Older kids will learn how technology and engineering can solve complex environmental problems like water pollution, marine debris, and storm resiliency.

Norwalk ACTS Out of School Time Program Locator!
Norwalk ACTS designed an Out of School Time Program Locator as a resource for families to find local out-of-school time programs that meet the needs of their children. The Out< features after School and summer programs that exist in Norwalk.
Families can search for programs and filter by age, price, type, time, and days. Each Program has its own profile page with additional program and contact information. It is accessible by both desktop and mobile, and it is available in Spanish and Haitian-Creole.

Summer Transition Programs: The Carver + Norwalk Public Schools
The Carver's summer transition programs are designed to help incoming 6th and 9th-grade students transition into Norwalk’s four middle and two high schools.
Programming includes individualized instruction, parental involvement, small group learning experiences, diverse enrichment activities, free transportation, and full-day activities benefiting working families.

Step into middle school with confidence this summer! Meet future classmates, get to know your new school and teachers, practice routines and build friendships before the first day even begins. Along the way, enjoy hands-on activities, exciting field trips, team challenges, games and all the fun of summer camp while getting ready for a great year ahead.
