A Message from Dr. Estrella & the Norwalk BOE
Dear NPS Community,
At Norwalk Public Schools, all our scholars deserve an excellent and high-quality education that provides access, opportunity, support and encouragement for each and everyone of them to excel in current and future endeavors regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status, disability, religion or any other identifying characteristic.
Our values such as excellence, student potential, relationships, integrity, and unwavering support for our community are not just words. They are the foundation of everything we do, guiding us through challenges and strengthening our resolve during uncertain times. We will use all legal means necessary to uphold these values and protect the rights of our students, educators, and families.
We are committed to maintaining local authority over our curriculum, teaching and learning of our schools. We also will vigorously support our teachers and staff as they continue to implement high-quality instruction aligned with our district's educational mission and curriculum.
Education is a fundamental right guaranteed to all children and the bedrock of a just and thriving society. A strong public school system is essential to the success, prosperity and future of scholars, our community and our nation.
Norwalk Public Schools and the Norwalk Board of Education will remain focused on our mission that ALL students graduate future-ready.
We appreciate your trust and partnership as we continue to stand together in support of our students and public education.
Sincerely,
Diana Carpio, Chair of the Norwalk Board of Education, on behalf of the Board
Dr. Alexandra Estrella, Superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools
