Brien McMahon & Norwalk High Honored at 22nd Annual Halo Awards

Norwalk High School and Brien McMahon High School drama clubs and their young thespians were honored at the 22nd Annual Seven Angels Theatre Halo Awards on May 31 at the Palace Theatre in Waterbury.

Brien McMahon High School’s Sabrina Arastu won Best Incidental or Original Music in a Play for her musical accompaniment of William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet." Zach Young won Best Performance in a Leading Male Role in a Contemporary Musical for his role as Jack Kelly in Disney's "Newsies." Elisabeth Mastrota also earned a Specialty Award.

Norwalk High School won Best Contemporary Musical for their production of “The Spongebob Musical.” The show also brought home awards for Best Props Design and Best Choreography. NHS also received honors for Outstanding Orchestra.
