Kevin Eidt was co-valedictorian of the Norwalk High School class of 1996, member of the marching and jazz band, and co-captain of the boy’s tennis team. The community service scholarship was created to foster community service which was an integral part of Kevin’s life as a volunteer for the Norwalk Soup Kitchen, Save the Children Foundation, and American Heart Association.

Kevin passed away from cardiac arrest while playing an intramural basketball game during the first week of second semester of his freshman year at Boston College. The Norwalk community responded to this tragedy by creating, growing, and sustaining the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity. Since its inception Kevin’s Fund has awarded $2.7 million in gifts of education to 222 recipients who have demonstrated involvement and accomplishments across the spectrum of academics, athletics, the arts, and community and religious service.
