May '24 Message from the Superintendent
Dear NPS Community,
As we approach the final stretch of this school year, I want to encourage everyone to stay the course and finish strong. We have already witnessed some incredible achievements this month, and I am confident we can carry this momentum through the final weeks.
Earlier this month, the NPS Family Center hosted a wonderful “Say Yes to a Prom Dress” event. This initiative made our high school seniors feel beautiful and confident as they prepared for prom night, creating memories that will last a lifetime. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our community for your generous donations. Your support was immensely appreciated.
I'm thrilled to share that First Book 2024 was another incredible highlight this month. We distributed 50,000 free books and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in the warm sun. It brought me immense joy to see so many families picking out books, enjoying a picnic on the lawn and being active on the fields together. It was a joyous occasion that underscored our commitment to literacy and the love of reading in our community.
Thank you to everyone who made this event an outstanding success!
The end of the year is fast approaching, and with it, the excitement of graduation. I had the honor of watching my two sons participate in the commencement ceremony alongside their P-TECH peers for the CT State Community College Norwalk graduation. It was a proud mom moment that I will cherish forever. Seeing our kids walk across the stage and knowing that they are leaving high school with an associate’s degree is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the incredible support system provided by our school community.
To all the families preparing to cheer on their children next month as they walk across the graduation stage, congratulations! Your children’s achievements are a reflection of the dedication and support you have provided throughout their educational journey. Parents, grandparents, guardians and other caregivers play a crucial role in getting our scholars to school, supporting their studies, and motivating them to persevere. Your efforts are deeply appreciated.
As we move towards the conclusion of this academic year, let us celebrate the successes and milestones we have achieved together. The upcoming graduations and promotion ceremonies will be a time of joy and pride for all of us. I look forward to celebrating with each of you and recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of our scholars.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the success of our scholars. Together, we have made this school year a memorable one, and I am confident that we will finish strong.
Warm regards,
Dr. Alexandra Estrella
