Nathan Hale Principal Selected Outstanding First Year Principal by CAS

The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has selected Nathan Hale Middle School Principal James Crouch as the William Cieslukowski Outstanding First Year Principal for 2024. Crouch took the helm at Nathan Hale at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year, previously serving as the assistant principal.
The visiting committee for CAS heard amazing things from all stakeholders —students, parents, staff, and administrators – about Mr. Crouch, and the committee felt confident that he was leading Nathan Hale with innovative ideas and a strong belief in the abilities of students and staff.
Crouch joined Norwalk Public Schools in August 2010 as the assistant principal of Roton Middle School. After seven years, he transitioned to Jefferson Elementary School as the assistant principal for a year then to Brookside Elementary School as the principal for a year.
CAS considers the Nathan Hale community lucky to have Mr. Crouch, and Norwalk Public Schools wholeheartedly agree. Thank you Principal Crouch for your outstanding work this year, and we look forward to seeing more of you and the Nathan Hale community in the future.
