Norwalk High School graduate Megan Pollard, Class of 2024, is the first recipient of the new Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Norwalk Community Service Scholarship awarded by Kevin’s Fund. The scholarship award is $5,000.

With the assistance of a grant from the City of Norwalk, Kevin’s Fund introduced the new Norwalk Community Service Scholarship for the Class of 2024. Mayor Harry Rilling announced Pollard as this year’s scholarship recipient at the Norwalk High School Senior Awards on May 23.

The scholarship recognizes outstanding community service to the City of Norwalk and graduating seniors from all four Norwalk high schools could be considered. Each high school developed their own process to identify a deserving graduating senior who could then represent their school and apply for the scholarship. Pollard was chosen by a committee comprised of a representative from each school and a member of the Eidt family.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant had to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Demonstrate a breadth and depth of outstanding service to the Norwalk community
  • Be in good standing in their school and their community
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • Intend to matriculate at a four-year, not for profit U.S. college or university in the fall

Pollard will be attending Quinnipiac University in Fall 2024.
