NHS Graduate Aliya Zamir Receives 2026 Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Norwalk Community Service Scholarship
Congratulations to Norwalk High School graduating senior Aliya Zamir! Aliya is the third annual recipient of the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Norwalk Community Service Scholarship awarded by Kevin’s Fund. The scholarship award is $7,500.
Aliya will be attending Vassar College in the fall.
The scholarship recognizes outstanding community service to the City of Norwalk and graduating seniors from all four Norwalk high schools could be considered. Each high school developed their own process to identify a deserving graduating senior who could then represent their school and apply for the scholarship. Rinaldi was chosen by a committee comprised of a representative from each high school and a member of the Eidt family.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant had to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Demonstrate a breadth and depth of outstanding service to the Norwalk community
- Be in good standing in their school and their community
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
- Intend to matriculate at a four-year, not for profit U.S. college or university in the fall
Kevin’s Fund also awarded $2,000 achievement scholarships to three seniors from each of the other high schools. The award recipients are:
- Rodrigo Torres from Center for Global Studies; planning to attend George Washington University
- James Cohen from Brien McMahon High School; planning to attend University of Miami
- Valentina Pena Hernandez from P-TECH Norwalk; planning to attend University of Connecticut
