November '24 Message from the Superintendent - Happy Thanksgiving!
Dear NPS Community,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for our entire community—students, families, teachers, administrators, and staff. Every day, we work together to provide your children with the best education possible. I am incredibly thankful for your dedication to this shared mission.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the spirit of unity and gratitude that has been part of our nation's history, all of us enriching our society with a diversity of cultures and traditions. Our district is a tapestry of many backgrounds and experiences, and I am thankful for the way we come together to support all our families and celebrate the values that unite us.
This fall, I’ve also been deeply appreciative of the engagement and input from those who participated in our Town Hall events focused on the FY 2025-26 Operating and Capital Budgets. These discussions have been both productive and insightful, helping us to identify the priorities and concerns of our community as we plan for the future of our schools.
Your feedback is invaluable as we work to ensure that every dollar is thoughtfully allocated to maximize its impact on our students’ learning experiences. I look forward to presenting my recommended budget to the Board of Education at the workshop on December 11.
A special congratulations goes out to our Board of Education, which was recently honored with the Board of Distinction Award by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE). This prestigious award is a testament to their effective leadership, teamwork, and commitment to excellence on behalf of our district. We are proud of their recognition and grateful for their ongoing efforts to support the success of all students.
During the Thanksgiving break, I hope you take time to relax and recharge, surrounded by loved ones and enjoying all the wonderful traditions of the season. From my family to yours, I wish you a joyous and restful Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alexandra Estrella
