NPS Communications

Congratulations to Lori Leibowitz, the Assistant Education Administrator of Gifted and Talented and the Arts for Norwalk Public Schools! The University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education and its Alumni Board announced Leibowitz and seven other outstanding graduates as 2025 Neag School Alumni Awards honorees.

The Neag School named Leibowitz an Outstanding School Administrator. With over two decades of experience in education, Leibowitz more certainly earned the honor. She is a distinguished administrator, educator and advocate for equity in gifted education who earned her graduate certificate from UConn in gifted education and talent development in 2019.

For Norwalk Public Schools, Leibowitz has overseen the redesign and implementation of innovative programs, increasing gifted identification rates by 25% and ensured equitable access for underrepresented populations.

“A dedicated advocate for transformative education, she continues to drive change through research, innovation and collaboration,” the Neag School said of Liebowitz.

Leibowitz and her fellow award recipients will be formally recognized at the Neag School’s 27th Annual Alumni Awards Celebration on March 15.
