NPS Names Interim Principal for Nathan Hale Middle School

Norwalk Public Schools Names James Crouch Interim Principal of Nathan Hale Middle School as of August 1

James Crouch will step up to serve as the interim principal for Nathan Hale Middle School effective Aug. 1, 2023. Crouch has served as the assistant principal of Nathan Hale since July 2020.

A social emotional school leader, Crouch aims to assist all students in the development of short and long-term goals that influence and enhance student performance, teacher accountability and a learning culture that supports the goals of the district.

Crouch joined Norwalk Public Schools in August 2010 as the assistant principal of Roton Middle School. After seven years, he transitioned to Jefferson Elementary School as the assistant principal for a year then to Brookside Elementary School as the principal for a year. 

Prior to his arrival in Norwalk Public Schools, Crouch served as the assistant principal at LaFrancis Hardiman Elementary School in Wyandanch, New York from 2008 to 2010. He served as the Dean of Students at Milton L. Olive Middle School in Wyandanch from September 2006 to January 2008.

Crouch began his career in Hempstead, New York as a history teacher at the Hempstead High School Alternative Program from 1997 to 2006. Also during that time, he worked as an in-school suspension teacher for Hempstead High School from 2001 to 2006.
