NPS Student Poetry Hits the Road Again with the Return of Words in Transit

The Words In Transit poetry contest has returned for a second year, and six winning poems are now featured on the back of Norwalk Transit buses, with the full poems displayed inside the buses for riders to enjoy. NPS middle school literacy coaches stopped by the bus depot on June 2 to watch the winning poems being installed and celebrate their students' accomplishments.
In celebration of National Poetry Month, middle school students from across the district were invited to submit poems centered on the theme “I Am Norwalk,” reflecting on their identity, community, and sense of belonging.
