NPS Working to Secure Federal Grant to Expand Workforce Development Initiative

Norwalk Public Schools was one of 73 schools to complete Phase 2 of the Career Z Challenge, part of the Raising the Bar: Unlocking Career Success initiative through the U.S. Department of Education under the Biden Administration. Completing Phase 2, NPS is eligible for an equal part of the $1.5 million prize pool that will help us expand the NPS Workforce Development initiative.
The challenge for school districts is to seek creative solutions to expand high school student access to high-quality work-based learning to prepare them to contribute to today’s workforce and propel them into careers of the future.
Norwalk Public Schools will be eligible to benefit from another $1.5 million prize pool (earning $150,000 or more) if the district successfully completes Phase 3.
