Project SEARCH Norwalk Celebrates Class of 2023
Earlier this month, 15 students in Project SEARCH with Norwalk Public Schools celebrated the completion of their program. The completion ceremony in the Community Room at City Hall marked a full circle moment for students who began their program there last fall.
Of the 15 students, nine have been competitively employed, four more had interviews scheduled this summer, and two will finish up their last internship this fall/winter. Four of the nine who are employed interned at the same site.
Project SEARCH is a one-year employment preparation program that takes place entirely in the workplace with a primary goal of securing competitive employment for individuals with disabilities. The program has two host sites – Norwalk Community College and Norwalk Hospital. Project SEARCH also partners with Ability Beyond.
