U.S. News & World Report Ranks CGS a Top 100 High School in CT
The Center for Global Studies was ranked among the top 100 high schools in Connecticut by U.S. News and World Report in its ranking of the 2023-2024 U.S. News Best High Schools.
“We are delighted to be named one of the Top 100 High Schools in Connecticut. Achieving this recognition would not be possible without the dedication and support of our faculty and families to ensure our students receive an outstanding global education,” said Julie Parham, Principal of the Center for Global Studies.
She added, “We are so proud of our students for their diligence, international-mindedness, and willingness to be intellectual risk-takers. The opportunity to travel abroad as a teenager is life changing. We are grateful that Norwalk Public Schools and the Board of Education have continually supported the mission and vision of the Center for Global Studies. Go CGS!”
“This ranking is a testament to the great work being done at the Center for Global Studies by Julie and her team,” said Dr. Alexandra Estrella, Superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools. “The school offers such unique experiences for our scholars such as immersing them in Chinese and Japanese culture and language and offering the opportunity to travel abroad in high school, something many don’t get to do until college or later in life.”
CGS was ranked #98. A total of 206 public high schools in Connecticut were ranked by the publication.
The U.S. News Best High Schools rankings include data on nearly 25,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nearly 18,000 schools were ranked on six factors: college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.
