Welcome Back to the 2024-25 School Year!
Dear NPS Community,
Welcome back! As we embark on this new school year, I am filled with excitement and optimism. It’s hard to believe that I’m beginning my fifth year as your superintendent—what an incredible journey it has been. Serving this community is a true privilege, and I am immensely proud of all we have achieved together so far.
When I first joined this district in the summer of 2020, we were facing unprecedented challenges. Social distancing, mask-wearing, and virtual learning tested our resilience, but together, we adapted and grew stronger. The lessons we learned during those difficult times continue to guide us today as we prepare our scholars for a rapidly evolving future.
Over the past four years, our Future Ready for All strategic plan has been our compass, steering us toward a more excellent and equitable education for every scholar. We have built a mission, vision, and set of values that will ensure our students graduate future ready as civically responsible, globally engaged and positive contributors to an ever changing and diverse world.
The first day (and week) of school is probably my favorite time of the year. Seeing the smiling faces of our scholars reminds us all of the boundless possibilities a new year brings. I am confident that this year will be filled with growth, discovery, and success for every student.
I was truly inspired this morning to witness so many of our dedicated teachers and staff members outside their schools, welcoming students with cheers and smiles. This simple act of support sets the tone for the entire year, reminding our scholars that they are surrounded by a community that believes in them from day one.
Our educators are eager to get started, and I can’t wait to see the incredible things our scholars will achieve under their guidance.
But it’s not just our students who are learning. Each day, we learn from you—our families—whose support is essential as we work together to build a bright future for our scholars. It truly takes a village, and I am honored to be a part of yours.
Here’s to a fantastic first week and an extraordinary school year ahead! Let’s make it our best one yet.
Yours in Partnership,
Dr. Alexandra Estrella
