The Norwalk Public Library has some exciting news to share about student library cards. After working closely with the administration of the Norwalk Public Schools, we were able to use Student ID Numbers to create valid library card numbers for your kids.

Every student in the Norwalk Public School District now has a working library card based on their student ID. If your child is starting in the school system in September, they will have access beginning the first day school starts!

The cards can be used immediately to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from our digital library. They can also be used to access online Homework Help, Mango Languages, and other digital resources. They can also borrow up to 5 items from the library.

Every Norwalk library card has a unique fourteen-digit number. That number gives the card holder free access to all the resources that the library pays for. Every Norwalk library card starts with 21294. The Student ID is tacked on to the end of the number. Any spaces in between are zeroes.

Since most student IDs are 7 digits long, the library card number looks like this: 2129400 + 1234567

If you would like to come in and get a physical card for your child based on their student library card, we are happy to make that happen! It allows the card to be used for up to 99 checkouts out a time!
