Title IX Contacts & Policies
Norwalk Public Schools recognizes that pursuant to Title IX "no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The district is committed to ensuring our schools and workplaces are free of sex discrimination/harassment. You can find information on Title IX and its implementation in the links below.
In August 2020, significant changes were made to Title IX. These changes are reflected in the definitions of sexual harassment and new procedures for investigations, dismissals and appeals. All Title IX materials have been updated to accurately reflect these changes.
If you have any questions please contact the Title IX Coordinator at your location, or the Title IX District Coordinator - Kimberly Byrd-Carolina (byrdcarolinak@norwalkps.org). Here are some additional links that may answer questions you have.
