NPS Transportation Services: Helping our scholars reach their destination safe and sound.
The Norwalk Public Schools Transportation Department is dedicated to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient transportation of students to and from school each day. Our team of professional drivers and support staff is committed to upholding the highest safety standards while fostering a positive and welcoming environment on every bus. We strive to make every journey a secure and seamless experience, providing families with peace of mind and students with the opportunity to arrive at school ready to learn and succeed. At the heart of our mission is the belief that safe transportation is the foundation of equitable access to quality education.
We are responsible for transporting 80% of the district’s student population, approximately 8,000 students, to over 23 buildings within city limits, including 4 high schools, 4 middle schools, 12 elementary schools, 1 magnet K-8 school, and 1 district wide Pre-K.
Additionally, providing transportation to non-public parochial, private, and charter schools within city limits, as well as Vocational Technical and Vocational Agriculture programs in Stamford. Supporting participation in out-of-district magnet programs and offering door-to-door special needs services for both in-town and out-of-district programs, all in compliance with state guidelines.
