No. Your family only needs to apply for the school choice lottery if you wish to attend a magnet school or participate in a choice program that's not offered at your districted school.

Applying for the lottery doesn't guarantee your child a spot at your choice school or program.

Yes. If you are not already enrolled in Norwalk Public Schools, you must register your child in the district.

You can choose up to 3 schools in order of preference.

You can also choose to lottery for one or two only.

No except for the Brookside Montessori Pre-K program. 

The Montessori Pre-K program is open to families who are districted for Brookside Elementary School only.

If your child is an incoming kindergarten student or new to the district, you must complete the online New Student Enrollment registration for the upcoming school year.

Yes. Our lotteries are weighted to provide sibling preference. To qualify, the sibling must be enrolled and attending the school during the school year that the lottery applicant sibling would begin (typically the following year).

If the other sibling will not be attending the school in that year, sibling preference would not apply.
